Bengaluru : Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has officially signed and approved the portfolio allocation list for the newly inducted ministers in the state cabinet, bringing an end to days of intense deliberations over key ministerial berths.
The portfolio reshuffle includes significant portfolio changes for senior leaders K.H. Muniyappa and Ramalinga Reddy. K.H. Muniyappa, who was initially assigned the Food and Civil Supplies department, has now been allocated the Social Welfare department after personally meeting senior party leadership to request the change.
Similarly, Ramalinga Reddy, who had expressed strong dissatisfaction over being assigned the Water Resources portfolio, has now been handed the Forest Department, resolving internal friction regarding key cabinet positions.
Among the prominent portfolio assignments, N. Cheluvarayaswamy has been given Water Resources, Laxman Savadi gets Cooperation, Santosh Lad takes charge of Labor, and U.T. Khader receives Health and Family Welfare alongside Wakf. Higher Education goes to Basavaraj Rayareddy, Primary and Secondary Education to Madhu Bangarappa, and Agriculture to P.M. Narendraswamy.
Other key portfolio allocations include Zameer Ahmed Khan receiving Housing, Ajay Singh taking charge of Small Irrigation and IT/BT, Rizwan Arshad heading Food and Civil Supplies, Shivalingegowda overseeing Excise, and S.S. Mallikarjun heading Geology and Mining.
