Mangaluru : In a significant move to assist citizens, a Special Voters’ List Revision (SIR) helpline center was officially inaugurated on June 15, 2026, at the Mangaluru City Corporation office of Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Ivan D’Souza. The primary objective of this dedicated helpline is to ensure that eligible voters from the Mangaluru South Assembly Constituency do not miss out on enrolling their names in the electoral roll. The center aims to guide citizens in verifying their details and submitting the correct documentation well within the stipulated deadlines. Launching the initiative, MLC Ivan D’Souza announced that the public can reach out to the dedicated mobile helpline number 8217865120 to receive comprehensive information and seamless assistance regarding the voter registration process.
Speaking on the occasion, former Mangaluru Mayor Shashidhar Hegde highlighted that there is a widespread lack of awareness among the general public regarding the Special Voters’ List Revision process. He emphasized that establishing such a dedicated information cell would effectively clear public confusion, prevent administrative hurdles, and streamline enrollment. Hegde strongly urged local residents to make the best possible use of this newly launched assistance center to secure their voting rights. The launch event witnessed the presence of several prominent local leaders and dignitaries, including former mayors Shashidhar Hegde and Bhaskar Moily, alongside Naveen D’Souza, Padmanabha Panicker, Prakash B. Salian, Satish Pengal, Abdul Saleem, Chethan Kumar, Manish Bolar, and Basheer Ahmed.
