Ujire : The holistic development of personality is the core objective of education, and learned individuals truly achieve meaningful education when they combine thoughtful inquiry with noble conduct, stated D. Harshendra Kumar, Secretary of SDM Educational Trust, Dharmasthala.
He was speaking during a scholarship distribution ceremony organized by the Trust at the Post Graduate Centre of SDM College in Ujire on Monday.
During the event, scholarships totaling ₹1,74,97,500 (Rupees One Crore Seventy-Four Lakh Ninety-Seven Thousand Five Hundred) were distributed to 1,549 deserving students across institutions. Addressing the beneficiaries, D. Harshendra Kumar advised students to remain deeply grateful to their alma mater, teachers, elders, and society at large. He urged them to lead cultured, responsible, and fulfilling lives while staying completely clear of harmful habits and vices.
The event was attended by Dr. S. Satheeschandra, Secretary of SDM Educational Institutions; Dr. T. Ashok Kumar, Principal of SDM College of Engineering; and Dr. Prashanth Shetty, Principal of SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences. Academic Coordinator Prof. S.N. Kakathkar welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Sowmya B.P., Dean of the PG Centre, proposed the vote of thanks. Lecturer in Chemistry Dr. Nefisath efficiently coordinated the program.
