SFI-DYFI Protest in Mangaluru Demands Resignation of Union Education Minister Over NEET Paper Leak

Mangaluru : Addressing a joint protest organized by the Student Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) in Mangaluru, DYFI Dakshina Kannada District Secretary Santhosh Bajal launched a scathing attack on the Central Government over the NEET question paper leak scandal. Bajal stated that the ongoing, relentless nationwide agitation by students at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar—demanding the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan—has rattled the Central leadership. Strongly condemning the alleged violence against protesting students by Delhi police and opposition goons, he highlighted that around 89 question paper leaks have occurred since the inception of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Terming the NTA an incompetent body, he demanded its immediate dissolution and called upon every conscious citizen of the district to extend full support to the students’ righteous struggle.

Presiding over the demonstration, DYFI District President B.K. Imtiyaz asserted that over the past 12 years, the Narendra Modi-led Central Government has completely disrupted the country’s education sector and played with the futures of millions of deserving students. Joining the agitation, several prominent leaders and activists, including Prof. Narendra Nayak, Yashwanth Maroli, SFI District leader Vinayak, and Manoj Vamanjoor, also addressed the gathering, expressing solidarity with the overnight stir at Jantar Mantar.

The protest witnessed widespread participation from youth, student, and labor organization leaders across the region. Prominent figures present at the demonstration included DYFI leaders Nitin Kuttar, Naveen Konchady, and Manoj Vamanjoor; rationalist Prof. Narendra Nayak; Advocate Dinesh Hegde Ulepady; Charan Shetty; SFI District Secretary Vinusha Ramana; Muhammad Azlan; Sandesh; Almas; Shrama; labor leaders Sunil Kumar Bajal, Yogish Jeppinamogaru, Balakrishna Shetty, Mahabala Deppelimaru, Tayyub Bengre, Naushad Bengre, Asuntha D’Souza, Pramila Shaktinagar, and Yogita Ullal.
