Mangaluru : The Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), India’s premier professional body dedicated to learning, training and human resource development, installed Shivani Baliga as Chairperson of its Mangaluru–Udupi Chapter at a ceremony held at Shankara Bhavana, Mangaluru, on Tuesday, June 30.
The new team includes Dr. Bharathi Shevgoor (Vice Chairperson), Vidya Bhat (Secretary) and Preetham Kamath (Treasurer). The Managing Committee comprises Subhash Bangera, Dr. Preethi D’Souza, Dr. Deepa Kotari and Peter Pinto. The Chapter will be represented on the ISTD National Council by Nivedita Mirajkar, Dr. Zita Lobo and CA M. N. Pai. The newly elected team took the oath of office and reaffirmed its commitment to advancing learning, leadership development and professional excellence.
In her address, Shivani Baliga thanked members for the confidence reposed in the new team and outlined plans to strengthen member engagement, knowledge sharing, learning initiatives and industry–academia collaboration. She said the Chapter would continue to support the development of future-ready professionals and organisations across the region.
Prof. Ramakrishna Chadaga, founding member of the ISTD Mangaluru–Udupi Chapter, attended the installation ceremony, congratulated the new team and spoke on the importance of continuous learning and professional development.
Established in 1970, ISTD is a national non-profit organisation affiliated with the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO). Through its network of 53 chapters, it organises conferences, workshops, certification programmes, research initiatives and networking platforms for trainers, HR professionals, academicians and learning practitioners.
Established in 2019, the ISTD Mangaluru–Udupi Chapter promotes continuous learning, industry–academia collaboration and leadership development across Coastal Karnataka.
