State-of-the-Art 'Abhisaran Aquatic Center' to be Inaugurated in Mangaluru on July 15

Mangaluru : Mangaluru is all set to witness a major boost in its sports infrastructure with the grand opening of the highly advanced ‘Abhisaran Aquatic Center’ on July 15. Located at Maladi Estate Road, near Trisha College of Management in Bangrakulur, this modern facility aims to redefine swimming infrastructure in the coastal region. Sanket Bengre announced during a press conference that acclaimed Olympian swimmer Shivani Kataria will be the star attraction of the inaugural ceremony.

The grand inauguration will be performed by Health Minister U.T. Khader Fareed, under the presidency of Nadoja Dr. G. Shankar. A distinguished lineup of chief guests including Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharat Shetty Y., Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, and Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V. will grace the occasion, alongside prominent personalities like Jaya C. Kotian, Sanjay Suvarna, Sumangala, Kiran Kumar, and Anil Kumar.

Designed with the primary goal of providing safe, professional, and scientifically structured swimming training across all age groups, the center boasts a 25-meter short-course international standard swimming pool. Featuring 10 spacious lanes, the pool has been meticulously engineered to cater to competitive training and high-performance professional coaching.

The facility prioritizes hygiene and user safety by integrating an advanced, cutting-edge water filtration system. Adhering strictly to international cleanliness protocols, the water quality will undergo rigorous and regular testing. Additionally, the venue offers excellent amenities including a parking space accommodating 45–50 cars and separate, modernized changing rooms for men and women. Certified lifeguards will be on duty during all operational hours, while coaching will be spearheaded by expert trainers holding elite AUSTSWIM, ASCA, and NIS certifications.

The center will roll out comprehensive ‘Learn-to-Swim’ programs customized for children, women, adults, and senior citizens, spanning basic lessons to elite coaching for national-level competitions. Recognizing the need for privacy, a dedicated exclusive swimming slot has been reserved for women every day from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

This world-class sporting arena fulfills the lifelong dream of Shashikumar, an individual deeply connected to the ocean, who envisioned establishing international-standard swimming facilities in Mangaluru, strongly supported by Sabitha S. Kumar. The masterminds and founders behind the venture, Sanket Bengre and Shilpa Bengre, are both decorated national-level medal-winning swimmers and globally certified coaches with extensive international exposure.

The daily operational hours of the center are scheduled from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the mornings, and from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the evenings, including the exclusive ladies’ hour. Ultimately, Abhisaran Aquatic Center envisions transforming Mangaluru into a premier hub for aquatic sports and water safety education, aiming to nurture world-class swimmers, proficient lifeguards, and future Olympic athletes.
