Mangaluru : Young swimming sensation Chinthan S Shetty delivered a stellar performance at the NRJ Karnataka Senior State Level Swimming Meet – 2026, securing a total of four medals. Dominating the pool, Shetty clinched two gold medals in the 50m and 100m Butterfly events. In addition to his gold haul, he earned a silver medal in the 200m Individual Medley and a bronze in the 100m Freestyle, showcasing his versatility across different swimming disciplines.
Following his impressive display at the state level, Chinthan has been officially selected to represent Karnataka at the upcoming 79th Senior National Aquatic Championship 2026. The prestigious national event is scheduled to take place from June 16, 2026, at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. His selection comes as a testament to his consistent form and hard work in the competitive swimming circuit.
Chinthan is a student of Sri Ramakrishna College, Bunts Hostel, Mangalore, and hones his skills at the Lakshyan Academy of Sports in Bangalore. His dual connection to both Mangalore and Bangalore highlights his journey as one of the state’s most promising aquatic talents. Coaches and college authorities have expressed immense pride in his achievement, wishing him success as he prepares to compete against the nation’s best swimmers in Gujarat.
