Udupi : The Kota police have arrested three individuals following allegations of verbal abuse and death threats issued to a man over the storage of government-supplied ration rice bags within his residential premises. The accused have been identified as Nagendra Puthran (37) from Gobbarabettu in Kotatattu village, P. Sumanth Kundar (40) from Padukere in Parampalli village, and Sachin Shriyan (32) from Moodahadu village in Sastana.
The incident occurred on August 31, when a case was registered at the Kota Police Station alleging that the trio subjected a local resident to filthy language, death threats, and extortion threats over government ‘Anna Bhagya’ rice bags kept in his house yard. Following the complaint, a special police operation was launched under the guidance of Udupi Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Belliappa K.U. and Brahmavar Circle Inspector Gopi Krishna.
The operational team was led by Kota Police Station Law & Order PSI Praveen Kumar R. and Crime PSI Mahantesh Jabagowda, supported by police personnel Vijayendra, Sharath, and Shivaraj. Nagendra Puthran and P. Sumanth Kundar were tracked down and arrested on September 2 near the Exhibition Grounds opposite the Mysore Palace in Mysuru, after which they were presented before the court.
Meanwhile, the third accused, Sachin Shriyan, had already been taken into custody on September 1 and subsequently produced before the magistrate. Officials confirmed that further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
