Mangaluru : The ongoing State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament in Mangalore witnessed high-voltage drama and spectacular performances on Day 4 as the young paddlers battled for ultimate glory. The highlight of the day was the Under-11 Girls’ Singles category, where Nithila Rakshitha B clinched the coveted title after a fierce final showdown against Neysa Aaryana Santhosh, sealing the match with a scoreline of 17-15, 11-6, 6-11, 11-4. Earlier in the intensely contested semifinals, Neysa had advanced by defeating Susmita Dharennavar 12-14, 12-10, 11-8, 11-9, while Nithila pulled off a spectacular come-from-behind victory against Ela Hegde, fighting hard to win 6-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-9.
In the Under-11 Boys’ Singles division, Krishna Moudgalya emerged victorious in a grueling five-set final, overcoming a stiff challenge from Chirayu B N with scores of 11-6, 8-11, 10-12, 11-9, 11-5. Krishna had earlier secured his final berth with a comfortable straight-set semifinal victory over Sushruth B K (11-7, 11-9, 11-6), whereas Chirayu B N had knocked out Rihaan P Setty in the other semifinal with a dominant 13-11, 11-8, 11-5 performance. Meanwhile, the Under-13 Girls’ Singles finals saw a remarkable turnaround by Sakshya Santhosh, who dropped the first two sets but rallied brilliantly to defeat Vibha Tavakari 6-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-5. In their respective semifinal matches, Sakshya had cruised past Srishti Dhariwal 11-5, 11-7, 11-2, while Vibha edged out Aadhya M in three tightly fought sets of 11-9, 12-10, 13-11.
The Under-13 Boys’ Singles crown was claimed by Arnav Mithun, who displayed absolute composure to defeat Suchet Dharennavar in straight sets (11-5, 11-9, 11-7) in the final match. During the semifinal stage, Arnav had comprehensively defeated Ankush Baliga 11-5, 11-4, 11-9, while Suchet worked his way past Deepak Vinay to win 8-11, 11-9, 12-10, 11-5. The Under-15 Boys’ Singles title belonged to Shriram Kiran, who completely outclassed Siddhanth M in a one-sided final encounter, winning 12-10, 11-7, 11-4. Shriram had earlier survived a massive semifinal scare by bouncing back from two sets down to beat Sathwik M 7-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8, while Siddhanth M had comfortably beaten Mohith Deepak Belavadi 11-8, 11-6, 11-3 to enter the finals.
In the highly competitive NMS Singles category, Yash Vishwas showcased tremendous resilience to win the championship title, overcoming Sanman Shashidhar in a five-set thriller that ended 5-11, 11-7, 8-11, 11-7, 11-3. Both finalists had endured exhausting semifinal battles to reach the final peak; Yash Vishwas had outlasted Vedant Vashist in a nail-biting encounter winning 11-6, 6-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-6, while Sanman Shashidhar had managed to halt the run of Diganth Gowda C N with a hard-fought 11-8, 12-10, 11-13, 11-8 victory.
