Udupi : A devastating road accident occurred on Saturday afternoon near Court Road in Udupi, taking the life of a prominent local figure. The victim has been identified as Lakshmi Manju Kola, former Vice President of the Udupi City Municipal Council and wife of Hindu Yuva Sena leader Manju Kola.
The tragic incident unfolded when she was attempting to cross the busy Court Road on foot and was suddenly struck by a moving bus. The impact resulted in severe injuries that proved fatal. Upon receiving information about the mishap, personnel from the Udupi Traffic Police Station rushed to the scene to conduct an initial investigation and manage the situation. Police have registered a case regarding the accident and are carrying out further inquiries.
