Mangaluru : Following a tense incident where an individual allegedly barged into a mosque and assaulted a madrasa educator, the management committee of the Central Badriya Juma Masjid formally lodged a police complaint on Thursday. The clash stems from an allegation regarding the disciplining of a student, which quickly escalated into a security breach at the religious institution on Tuesday night.
According to the official complaint registered at the Surathkal police station, the accused, identified as Shamsuddin from Krishnapura 6th Block, forcefully entered the Thaiba Mosque in Krishnapura. He falsely accused the madrasa teacher, Umar Farooq Sakhafi (a native of Hejamadi in Udupi district), of hitting his nephew. Shamsuddin reportedly resorted to verbal abuse, physically assaulted the teacher, and issued death threats before leaving the premises, prompting the mosque management to seek immediate legal action.
