Udupi : The Udupi police have successfully apprehended two long-absconding suspects who were wanted under the stringent Karnataka Control of Organized Crime Act (KCOCA) in connection with a high-profile kidnapping case registered at the Kota Police Station. The accused individuals, identified as Manoj Kulal alias Manoj Kodikere and Chetan alias Chethu Padil, had been actively evading law enforcement authorities for several months. Driven by a lack of breakthrough, the police department had previously issued a public notice offering a cash reward of Rs. 50,000 to anyone providing credible information leading to their arrest. Acting on crucial leads provided by alert citizens, the police managed to arrest Chetan alias Chethu Padil on April 30, 2026, followed by the capture of Manoj Kulal alias Manoj Kodikere on June 11, 2026.
Following the successful operations, the police department announced that the promised reward amount would be handed over to the informants whose timely inputs led to the arrests. The police administration highly commended the citizens for their vital cooperation and coordination during the investigation. They further appealed to the general public to maintain the same momentum by continuing to share information regarding any suspicious or criminal activities, emphasizing that public partnership is crucial to preventing and detecting crimes efficiently to maintain peace in society.
