Udupi: In a tragic incident reported from Udupi district, a 22-year-old youth lost his life after his scooter crashed into a road divider during the early hours of Friday at Mudrangadi. The deceased has been identified as Joswin D’Souza, a resident of Kenja Hittu in Kutyaru.
According to police sources, Joswin was returning home to Kutyaru after attending a private function in Mudrangadi late Thursday night. The accident occurred near the residence of Lawrence D’Souza at Golikatte in Kutyaru. It is reported that Joswin lost control of his scooter, leading to a violent collision with the road divider.
The impact of the crash left him with severe injuries. Local residents who rushed to the spot immediately shifted him to a hospital in Manipal for emergency treatment. However, he breathed his last while in transit, and doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead. The local police have taken note of the incident and are investigating the matter further.
