Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman offered special prayers at the historic Sri Krishna Math in Udupi on Saturday morning, June 13. Arriving at the temple from Kaup, she sought the darshan of Lord Krishna and met with the Paryaya Seer to receive his blessings. Sources indicated that she spent some time engaging in a brief discussion with the Seer during her spiritual visit. Later, she inaugurated the newly constructed kitchen (Paaya Da Kone) at the Krishna Mutt, which has been built for preparing offerings (naivedya) to the deity. Following her temple visit, the Union Minister scheduled to inaugurate a two-day district-level BJP training camp (Prashikshana Varga) organized by the district BJP unit at the premises of the Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi Temple.
The Union Minister had arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport via a flight from Delhi at around 8:15 PM on Friday, June 12. From the airport, she traveled by road to Kaup, where she stayed overnight at the Manthan Beach Resort. On Saturday, she also visited the famous Hosa Marigudi Temple in Kaup taluk, where she took the darshan of the reigning deity and performed special rituals and prayers. Among those present on the occasion were Shirur Mutt Diwan Uday Kumar Saralattaya, Parupatyegar Sreesh Bhat Kadekaru, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, and Madhukar Mudradi.
