Mangaluru : The Government Wenlock Hospital here on Sunday got its first ambulance buggy that helps to shift patients, medical records and medicines from one block to another in the hospital.
The buggy was purchased using Rs. 7 lakh from the Area Development Fund of Ivan D’Souza, MLC.
The district surgeon and superintendent of the hospital and all the staff of the hospital thanked Hon’ble Ivan D’Souza. They said that it is very useful for the patients. They said that this system may not be available in any government hospital.
Thanking Mr. D’Souza for the grant of funds, Wenlock Hospital Superintendent D.S. Shivaprakash said the ambulance buggy will be used to shift patients from the surgical block to the beds in the old block after surgery. It will also be used to take patients for CT/MRI/X-Ray/scanning from their wards.
