Mangaluru : Indian Railways has delivered fantastic news for commuters to tackle the heavy passenger rush caused by summer travel and employment-related commuting in June. A special express train service will operate for four round trips spanning four weeks between Hyderabad and Mangaluru Central. This temporary service is expected to significantly ease transit for passengers traveling across three major states: Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala.
According to an official release from the Palakkad Division of Southern Railway, Train Number 07097 (Hyderabad–Mangaluru Central Special Express) will operate every Wednesday from June 3 to June 24. The train is scheduled to depart from Hyderabad at 4:20 AM and will reach Mangaluru Central at 9:30 AM the following morning.
For the return journey, Train Number 07098 (Mangaluru Central–Hyderabad Special Express) will run every Thursday from June 4 to June 25. It will leave Mangaluru Central at 8:00 PM on Thursday and arrive at its destination in Hyderabad at 4:00 AM on Saturday.
To cater to varying budgets and travel preferences, the special train will be equipped with a comprehensive 24-coach composition. This setup includes 3 AC 2-tier coaches, 5 AC 3-tier coaches, 10 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second-class coaches, alongside 2 luggage and brake vans.
During its journey, the express train will halt at several key commercial and transit hubs. Passengers can board or deboard at Begumpet, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Sedam, Yadgir, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Guntakal, Anantapur, Dharmavaram, and Hindupur. Crucially for Karnataka commuters, it will stop at Yelahanka and Krishnarajapuram (KR Puram) in Bengaluru, as well as Bangarapet, before passing through Salem and Erode in Tamil Nadu, and Palakkad, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod in Kerala. Railway officials noted that this special initiative is aimed at decongesting regular routes and ensuring a comfortable, hassle-free journey for families and tourists during the peak month of June.
