Mangaluru : A tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening at Kasaba Bengre Ferry Point on the outskirts of Mangaluru, where a 25-year-old youth drowned in the river while attempting to retrieve a football.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Sanaullah (25), son of Muhammad Sali and Zahura, residing in Kasaba Bengre.
According to local reports, children were playing football near the Ferry Point when the ball accidentally fell into the river. Muhammad Sanaullah stepped into the water to fetch the ball for the children but accidentally lost his footing and was swept away by the river currents.
Upon realizing the situation, local residents immediately launched a search operation and managed to pull Sanaullah out of the water. Although he was administered first aid and rushed to a private hospital in the city, he succumbed without responding to medical treatment.
