Belthangady: The mysterious death of a 32-year-old man near Guruvayanakere has taken a dramatic turn, with police investigations confirming it as a cold-blooded murder. The victim has been identified as Yatish Gowda, a resident of Perne in Bantwal taluk. Following swift action, the Belthangady police have arrested three suspects in connection with the crime.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Yashodhara (35) from Mittabagilu in Belthangady, Mohan (30) from Charvaka in Kadaba, and Ibrahim (54) from Padangadi. The breakthrough came after Yatish’s body was discovered under suspicious circumstances on Monday morning in the courtyard of Sridevi Complex, located at Aladikottige near Guruvayanakere.
The case unfolded after the victim’s brother lodged a formal complaint expressing deep suspicion that Yatish had been beaten to death. Acting promptly on the complaint, the Belthangady police scanned the surveillance cameras in the area. The CCTV footage clearly captured the trio—Yashodhara, Mohan, and Ibrahim—brutally assaulting Yatish earlier in the morning, which ultimately led to his death.
Sensing the gravity of the incident, top police officials, including Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police Dr. Arun Kumar, Additional SP Anil Kumar Bhooma Reddy, and Belthangady Sub-Division DySP Rohini C.K., visited the crime scene. Belthangady Sub-Inspector Sikandar Pasha and his team, along with the forensic SOKO team, conducted a thorough inspection of the spot to gather critical evidence for the ongoing investigation.
