Udupi : A school van driver ferrying students to school died after suffering a heart attack on August 1, in Udupi
The deceased was identified as Moydheen Bava (65), a resident of Neere Bailoor, Karkala.
It is said, he experienced chest pain while driving and stopped the vehicle after spotting social worker Nityananda Volakadu walking along Maruthi Veethika. He informed Volakadu about his condition, who quickly arranged an ambulance and rushed him to the Ajjarkad district hospital.
Doctors at the hospital, however, declared him dead on arrival. Thanks to the driver’s presence of mind to stop the van and seek help, a potential tragedy involving the students was averted.
