Udupi: A passenger who fell into danger while attempting to alight from a moving train was swiftly rescued by alert Railway Police personnel at the Madgaon Railway Station on Sunday.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred around 7:00 PM on Platform No. 1. As the Konkan Kanya Express started to move away from the platform, a passenger attempted to get off the train. They slipped and fell into the gap between the train and the platform.
Heroic Rescue by Constables
Two Railway Police personnel stationed nearby, Constable Kapil Sayani and Head Constable R.S. Boy, noticed the incident immediately. They rushed to the spot and quickly pulled the passenger up, saving the person from a life-threatening situation. The rescued passenger expressed deep gratitude to the police staff for saving their life.
Recognition and Reward
Konkan Railway’s CMD (Chairman and Managing Director), Santosh Kumar Jha, lauded the swift action and professionalism of both police personnel. The CMD announced a cash reward of ₹10,000 for each of the two staff members for their commendable work.
