Mangaluru : Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, U.T. Khader, emphasized that well-educated and culturally grounded young people constitute the most significant asset for the country’s progress. He was speaking after inaugurating the National Youth Day celebrations held at the Town Hall today to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The event was organized by the Yuvanika Foundation in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Mangalore University and Health Volunteers. Highlighting the importance of youth leadership, the Speaker noted that the values instilled in the younger generation today will shape the future of the nation.
The ceremony featured several distinguished guests, including Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. L. Dharma and Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of St. Joseph’s Engineering College. Other prominent attendees included Vishwas Kumar Das, President of the Karnataka State Ganiga Development Board; Raghuraj Kadri, Mangalore University Syndicate Member; and Shalet Pinto, President of the Karnataka Eco-Tourism Development Board.
NSS Program Coordinator Dr. Sheshappa Amin, Senior Advocate Dinakar Shetty, and various academic heads like Dr. Venkatesh Amin from Srinivas University and M. Jaikishan Bhat, Principal of Coastal Institute Udupi, were also present. The program commenced with introductory remarks by Youth Coordinator Raghuveer Sutarpete. The event was hosted by Vaishali and Nihal, with active participation from Youth Director K. Kasturi and a dedicated team of volunteers.
