Mangaluru : Inaugurating a new clean drinking water facility at the PVS Circle bus stand on Thursday, MLA Vedavyas Kamath lauded the selfless contribution of social organizations in providing essential amenities to the public. He emphasized that the partnership between service-minded individuals and institutions is vital for the welfare of society, particularly in addressing basic needs like access to safe water during the summer months.
The MLA further highlighted the consistent efforts of the Rotary Club, noting that the organization has made service its core mission. By collaborating with local administration to install drinking water units and improve infrastructure across various parts of the city, Rotary is playing a significant role in community development. He also stressed that the long-term maintenance of such projects is just as important as their installation, urging continued cooperation to ensure the public receives uninterrupted benefits.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including former Mayors Shashidhar Hegde and Diwakar Kadri, MCC Deputy Commissioner Naresh Shenoy, and former Rotary Governor Dr. Devadas Rai. Also present were DK District Working Journalists Association President Pushparaj B.N., Rotary Mangalore Central President Bhaskar Rai Katta, and state executive member Srinivas Nayak Indaje. Other Rotary officials and local contributors, including Brian Pinto, Vikas Kotyan, and Prabhavathi Shetty, graced the occasion to support the initiative.
