Tumakuru : To celebrate the completion of three years of the state government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, a massive state-level convention is scheduled to be held in Tumakuru on May 20. Home Minister and District In-charge Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara directed the district administration to make all necessary arrangements during a review meeting held with district-level officials on Saturday. While the event was initially planned as a regional development meet, it has now been upgraded to a state-level mega-convention to commemorate the government’s milestone anniversary.
The convention is expected to draw over two lakh beneficiaries from across the state. To facilitate their travel, approximately 4,000 buses will be deployed. The event will feature a comprehensive exhibition showcasing the successful implementation of the state government’s flagship schemes and the progress of various departments. Additionally, the program will include the distribution of benefits to eligible citizens. Minister Parameshwara instructed officials to immediately submit lists of department-wise achievements, pending inaugurations, and foundation stone-laying projects to the district administration for formal inclusion in the ceremony.
The Government Junior College Ground is being considered as the primary venue for this high-profile event, which will be attended by various ministers, MLAs, and MPs. The district administration has been tasked with forming sub-committees to manage logistics such as seating, food, transportation, and helipad arrangements without any lapses. Furthermore, the Public Works Department has been directed to coordinate the preparation of foundation plaques and venue infrastructure to ensure the smooth execution of the inaugural and stone-laying ceremonies planned for the day.
