Bengaluru : The Karnataka government remains firmly committed to the protection, holistic development, and welfare of minorities, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar reaffirmed while speaking at the Eid Milad event organized by the Markazi Milad-un-Nabi and Seerat Committee alongside the Sunni Jamath All Karnataka at Bengaluru’s YMCA grounds on Wednesday. Addressing the gathering, he stressed that the administration stands in full solidarity with the community while upholding social harmony and peaceful coexistence.

Emphasizing the core philosophy of religious unity, D.K. Shivakumar stated that while forms of worship and names differ, the ultimate divine truth remains singular across all faiths. He noted that no individual chooses their caste or religion at birth and reminded the audience that every spiritual leader has advocated for nationwide peace, integrity, and brotherhood. Reaffirming the egalitarian vision of the Congress government, he assured that statutory programs and funds have been structured to ensure equal opportunities and progress for all sections of society.

Highlighting the political representation granted under the current administration, the Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that the government has empowered the minority community like never before. He stated that for the first time, members of the community have been appointed to key constitutional and administrative roles, including the post of Legislative Council Chairman, three cabinet ministerial portfolios, and dozens of corporation chairmanships.
