Mangaluru :Milagres College, in collaboration with ICYM Mangalore Diocese and the Mangalore Runners Club, successfully hosted “Apex Run 2026” on May 10, 2026, at the Milagres College Campus in Mangaluru. Aimed at promoting health awareness, fitness, and youth engagement, the mega marathon attracted an overwhelming response of 1,450 participants from various institutions and fitness communities. The event commenced at 5:20 AM with a high-energy Zumba session led by Hardika Shetty and entertainment by DJ Vajra, setting a vibrant tone for the morning. The official flag-off ceremony was performed by the Chief Guest, Msgr. Lawrence Maxim Noronha, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese, alongside presiding officer Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth and other dignitaries including Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao and Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza.
The competitive segments began shortly after, with the 10 KM run flagging off at 5:40 AM, followed by the 5 KM and 3 KM categories. In the 10 KM Men’s category, Chennakeshava G L secured the first place, while Jayashree B R topped the 10 KM Women’s category. For the 5 KM race, Govind Raj and Dhanya Prabhu claimed the first-place titles in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. Additionally, the Mangalore Runners Club received a special trophy for the highest number of participants, and individual honors were awarded for a Reels Making Competition and a Lucky Bib draw.
The marathon concluded smoothly due to meticulous route management, medical assistance, and police support, ensuring the safety of all runners. Organizers expressed their gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers, and the community for making the event a grand success. The gathering ended with the inspiring message “Run Beyond Limits,” leaving participants motivated to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
