Brahmavar : The Brahmavar police have arrested three individuals associated with a Mangaluru-based finance company for allegedly harassing borrowers, seizing vehicles, and assaulting a guarantor over unpaid loan installments with exorbitant interest rates. Following a complaint filed by Rajesh Nayak, a formal case was registered at the Brahmavar police station. The complaint alleged that the accused forcibly confiscated a motorcycle belonging to Ganesh Ganiga of Kunjal over high-interest loan defaults and physically assaulted Rajesh Nayak, who had acted as a guarantor for the loan.
Under the guidance of Udupi Sub-Divisional Police Officer Belliappa and Brahmavar Circle Inspector Gopikrishna, an investigation was carried out by Brahmavar PSI Ashok Malabagi, along with crime staff members Kiran and Siddappa Sakenalli. The police initially arrested Sandeep Shetty from Kulai, Mangaluru, and Vijith Shetty from Kavoor, Mangaluru, on August 6. Both suspects were subsequently produced before the court.
Continuing the investigation, the police apprehended the third suspect, Sampath, a resident of Bajpe in Malavoor, Mangaluru district, on August 13. During the operation, law enforcement authorities successfully seized the motorcycle that had been forcibly taken from the victim, as well as the car allegedly used by the accused persons while committing the crime.
