Mangaluru : The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited (CAMPCO) recorded a strong financial performance during FY 2025-26, achieving a total business turnover of ₹3,735 crore and a Profit Before Tax of ₹49.62 crore. Despite significant price volatility in the arecanut market and ongoing global challenges within the cocoa sector, the co-operative maintained robust operations across procurement, processing, and distribution networks. Demonstrating its continued financial resilience and commitment to its grower-members, the Board of Directors, led by President S.R. Sathishchandra, recommended a 14% dividend for the financial year.
Arecanut remained the core pillar of CAMPCO’s commercial operations, with total procurement reaching 58,742.76 MT valued at ₹2,924.32 crore and sales touching 59,088.64 MT worth ₹2,985.19 crore. Addressing serious industry concerns, the co-operative raised issues regarding the unauthorized influx of imported arecanut being mixed with domestic produce, directly requesting central intervention from Union Home Minister Sri Amit Shah. Furthermore, CAMPCO actively pursued relief from Mandi Tax in Uttar Pradesh with Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and state authorities under the “One Nation, One Tax” principle to optimize interstate trading costs.
Beyond its core arecanut operations, CAMPCO expanded its cocoa and chocolate division, registering 12,606.40 MT in production and ₹488.65 crore in total product sales, including international exports to regions like the Maldives and Dubai. The co-operative invested ₹12 crore into chocolate factory upgrades, including new refiners and an 18-pot cocoa butter press facility that expands daily processing capacity by 15 MT. Additionally, CAMPCO strengthened member welfare by distributing subsidized cocoa seedlings, copper sulphate, and agricultural inputs, while simultaneously advancing digital transformation through its CAMPCO Kisan Mitra app and CAMPCO CART e-commerce platform.
The co-operative also reinforced its infrastructural footprint by establishing new procurement hubs in Ripponpet, Chelur, and Sarpady, alongside major godown developments planned for Shivamogga, Vittal, and Dharapuram. Operating with a growing membership of 1,53,794 and strong CRISIL A/A1 credit ratings, CAMPCO continued its transition toward green energy, drawing nearly 57% of its chocolate factory power from wind and solar installations. Looking forward, the co-operative is commemorating the birth centenary of founder Late Sri Varanasi Subraya Bhat and preparing to host the prestigious International Arecanut Conference 2027 in Mangaluru.
