Divakar Pai Kochikar Elected New President of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Mangaluru : The 86th Annual General Meeting of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) was held at its registered office on Monday, September 28, 2026. During the meeting, members elected the new leadership team and Board of Directors for the 2026–27 term. Entrepreneur Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar has been elected as the new President to lead coastal Karnataka’s premier trade and industry body. He will be supported by Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor as Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as Honorary Treasurer, and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira along with Shri Vincent Cutinha as Honorary Secretaries, alongside a 12-member Board of Directors.

A graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from MIT Manipal, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar brings a rich blend of corporate, entrepreneurial, and community leadership experience. Having worked early in his career with Nucleus Software and Infosys, he returned to Mangaluru as the third-generation Executive Director of Swasti Cashew Industries Pvt. Ltd. He also co-founded Kochikar Technologies LLP, developing digital platforms such as MyPoojaBooking™ and Sahay Mitra. He has been associated with KCCI since 2018 as a Director and has served two terms as Honorary Secretary, besides actively contributing to Rotary District 3181 and the Ammembal Subbarao Pai Memorial Fund.

Outlining his vision, the newly elected President stated that both the Union and State Governments are showing strong commitment to unlocking the region’s economic potential. Emphasizing that Mangaluru is entering a crucial 5 to 10-year growth window, he highlighted the need for sustainable growth and structured urban planning to position the city as a global business hub. He emphasized leveraging Mangaluru’s maritime and port infrastructure while driving progress in IT, finance, healthcare, tourism, and skilling the local youth. Concluding his address, Shri Pai expressed gratitude to past presidents, directors, well-wishers, and the media fraternity for their continued support.
