Mangaluru : Coastal Friends Mangaluru (CFM) is set to organize the third edition of its special concept outreach program, ‘Santhwana Sanchara’ (Journey of Solace), this year focusing on special needs children. The event, titled ‘Santhwana Sanchara 3.0 (A Day with Special Kids),’ is scheduled to take place in Mangaluru on Sunday, December 7. Speaking at a press conference, Sharif Abbas Valaluru stated that the previous editions in 2023 (A Day with Bedridden) and 2024 (A Day with Orphans) were highly successful.
The program aims to bring joy to 100 special needs children from Dakshina Kannada district, selected from two different centers (90 children) and externally (10 children). To ensure maximum care, 50 caretakers (one for every two children) have been deployed, along with 60 CFM members volunteering as support staff. The safety arrangements are comprehensive, including transportation in 4 buses, two ambulances for emergency services, two doctors, and one physiotherapist. Uniform model T-shirts will be distributed to both the children and the institution’s members.
The full-day itinerary for ‘Santhwana Sanchara 3.0’ is packed with activities. The day will commence at 8:30 AM with breakfast at BMS Hotel in Kuntikana, followed by a grand welcome with a band set and the distribution of sunglasses and caps. The event will be flagged off by Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader, and the children will visit Pilikula Nisargadhama from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Following the visit, the group will travel to Palemar Garden in Jeppu Bolar for a lunch session from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
The afternoon session at Palemar Garden features fun and entertainment, including swimming pool activities (2:30 PM – 3:30 PM) and a range of games, recreational activities, competitions, and a dance program until 6:30 PM. Special attractions like a Live Pizza Counter, Cracker Show, Popcorn and Sweet Corn, Water Balloon Fun, Drawing Zone, and Selfie Counters will also be set up for the children. The day will conclude with a valedictory function from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The press conference was also attended by General Secretary Saukat Ali, Santhwana Sanchara Convener Aftab Bastikar, Joint Secretary Junaid Bantwal, and Sameer Luckystar.
