Mangaluru : In a major push to reduce road accidents and curb traffic rule breaches across the district, the Dakshina Kannada Police Department has implemented high-tech surveillance cameras in key locations during the first phase of its road safety initiative.
These advanced monitoring cameras have been strategically installed in high-traffic zones falling under the Vitla, Uppinangady, Sullia, and Bantwal Rural police station limits. The system has officially commenced operations on Thursday, July 23.
The newly deployed cameras will automatically detect various traffic infractions in real-time. Based on the digital evidence captured by these automated units, official violation notices and legal action will be directly dispatched to the registered owners of offending vehicles, according to a police release.
