Mangaluru : Former Minister B. Ramanath Rai has urged the state government to disqualify Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna from his legislative post and initiate appropriate legal action against him for allegedly making derogatory, objectionable, and hate speeches targeting Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Addressing a press conference at the District Congress Office in Mallikatte on Thursday, Rai strongly condemned Suvarna’s statements about destroying Rahul Gandhi’s family, emphasizing that the Nehru-Gandhi family has made immense contributions to the nation’s development and such inflammatory remarks are utterly unacceptable.
Rai highlighted Rahul Gandhi’s role as a responsible Opposition Leader, noting his dedicated efforts both inside and outside Parliament to address the injustices faced by students in the NEET examination scam. The press conference was attended by several prominent Congress leaders, including Cashew Development Corporation Chairperson Mamata Gatti, alongside key party officials Pius Rodrigues, Shahul Hameed, Baby Kunder, Abbas Ali, Subhodaya Alva, Appi S, Vikas Shetty, T.K. Sudhir, and Nithyananda Shetty.
