Fundraising Drive and Religious Meet Launched for Renovation of Thaudugoli Shri Durgadevi and Ayyappa Swami Temple Complex

Ullal : A significant step toward the preservation of spiritual heritage was marked at Thoudugoli near Ullal with the official launch of the fundraising drive for the comprehensive renovation of the ancient Shri Durgadevi Temple, Ayyappa Swami Mandir, and Parivara Daiva Sanidhya. The drive was inaugurated alongside a solemn religious congregation held on September 6.

The event commenced with traditional Vedic rituals, including Padukanyasa and Shri Mahaganapathi Homa, performed under the guidance of Varkady Hosamane Shri Rajesh Thalithaya. Delivering his divine discourse on the occasion, Odiyoor Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji emphasized that restoring sacred, historical shrines in a state of disrepair is a immense contribution to Hindu dharma and spiritual growth. Reflecting on the spirit of sacrifice exemplified by Lord Ayyappa, Swamiji noted that adopting such virtues purifies human life, adding that divine blessings will ensure a generous flow of resources toward the temple’s restoration.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Harikrishna Punarooru, Honorary President of the Renovation Committee, highlighted the social duty attached to prosperity. He remarked that individuals should utilize a portion of their hard-earned wealth not only for constructing places of worship but also for serving the needy and underprivileged in society.

The program was presided over by K. Ravindra Shetty Ulaidottu, President of the Renovation Committee, who delivered the introductory remarks. Shivaprasad Thaudugoli, Treasurer of the committee, welcomed the guests, while journalist Satish Kumar Pundikai and theatre artist Ravi Varkady compered the proceedings.

A large gathering of dignitaries and devotees attended the ceremony, including Varkady Hosamane Shri Rajesh Thalithaya, hereditary trustee Govinda Guruswamy, former MLC K.
