Karnataka Rajyotsava Award Announced for 71 Achievers Including Vishwanath Suvarna, A.C. Bhandari, and Dr. Indira Hegde

Mangaluru : The Karnataka state government has announced the prestigious Rajyotsava Award for 71 eminent personalities across the state, including three notable achievers from the Dakshina Kannada district: veteran media photographer Vishwanath Suvarna, All India Tulu Federation President A.C. Bhandari for social service, and renowned author Dr. Indira Hegde for literature.

Born in Mangaluru, Vishwanath Suvarna served as a dedicated press photographer for Deccan Herald and Prajavani for nearly 45 years. Throughout his distinguished career, he captured numerous significant political, social, cultural, religious, and public events on his lens, while also authoring acclaimed works such as Karunadina Kotegalu, Kannada Nadina Bannada Banadigalu, and Ports of Karnataka.
