Mangaluru : The College Rooftop Auditorium of Milagres College came alive with intense energy as the Milagres Kabaddi Premier League (MKPL) was hosted on 17 September 2026. The tournament brought together current students from the Pre-University (PUC) and Degree programmes along with sports alumni of Milagres institutions, uniting them in a celebration of athleticism, camaraderie, and healthy competition. A total of 84 players spread across eight distinct teams participated in the tournament, demonstrating commendable agility, coordination, and tactical prowess throughout the high-octane matches.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal and Campus Director; Mr. Melvin Vas, PUC Principal; Mr. Dixsun D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; and Mrs. Diana Lobo, Principal of Milagres College of Nursing. Key event organizers, including Mr. Aakash Shetty (Physical Director, Kabaddi Coach, and Event Coordinator), Pratheeth Salian (Student Secretary), and Anusha Moras (Joint Secretary), were also in attendance. Delivering the presidential address, Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao lauded the organizers and players, underlining that sports play a vital role in building discipline, leadership, and resilience. He urged students to embrace both triumphs and setbacks with equal humility and carry these core sporting values into their future endeavors.

The proceedings began with a welcome address by Musphic, who also anchored the event as the Master of Ceremonies. The matches were kept lively and engaging by commentator Mr. Divakar Uppala, while referees Mr. Anand, Mr. Sudarshan, Mr. Bharath, and Mr. Sharath ensured fair and seamless officiating. Following a series of fiercely contested rounds, Team Lala claimed the championship title, with Team PU Bulls finishing as the Runners-up. Milanza United and BBA Gladiators secured the First Runners-up and Second Runners-up positions, respectively. The tournament concluded on a resounding note, with Mr. Aakash Shetty delivering the vote of thanks, cementing the event as a grand success that fostered sportsmanship and lifelong fellowship.
