Dharmasthala: In a significant boost to young regional filmmakers, ‘Shreegana’, a short film beautifully capturing the essence of Tulu Nadu’s divine Daiva Aradhane, rich culture, and age-old traditions, was officially launched at Dharmasthala.
The short film was released by the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, Poojya Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, alongside Matrushree Hemavathi V. Heggade. After watching the screening, the Heggade couple highly lauded the production, praising the young team’s effective portrayal of the region’s cultural heritage and the profound spiritual significance of deity worship. Echoing similar appreciation, Sri D. Harshendra Kumar, Secretary of Dharmasthala Educational Institutions, and Sonia Yashovarma, patron of the SDM Kala Kendra, also viewed the film and extended their best wishes to the entire technical crew and cast for their innovative creative endeavor.
Spanning a run-time of approximately 15 minutes, this student and youth-driven cinematic project revolves around a narrative deeply rooted in the folklore of Tulu Nadu’s spiritual customs. The project is produced by Karthik Subramanya, with screenplay and direction helmed by Noothan Amin, while Sujith Surya has penned the story and dialogue. The musical score is composed by Bhushan Poojari with background music by Samarthan Rao, and Gagan Raj successfully managed the cinematography and editing departments. The cast features Rohit, a native of Subramanya, in the lead role, supported by notable performances from Karthik Shobhit, Kiran, Jayaram, Rajaram, and others. Backed by the valuable guidance and mentorship of Sunil Shetty Kalkoppa and Yashwanth Belthangady (Ninasam), ‘Shreegana’ has been released on the ‘Kukkeshri Creations’ YouTube channel, where it is already drawing widespread appreciation from viewers for its cultural commitment and creative excellence.
