Mangaluru : In a significant move towards digital education and skill enhancement, the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, has forged a strategic alliance to launch a suite of premium online postgraduate and certification programmes. The institute sealed this initiative by signing a bipartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and a tripartite agreement involving both NSDC and leading EdTech firm USDC. This landmark collaboration is designed to democratize access to NITK’s premier academic resources, catering to a diverse audience of students, working professionals, and global entrepreneurs.

The high-profile signing ceremony was led by Prof. B. Ravi, Director of NITK Surathkal, alongside Ms. Mahima Singh from NSDC and Mr. Vivek Bhattacharya from USDC. The event was witnessed by several top institutional officials, including the Registrar in-charge Prof. Kumar G.N., various academic Deans, and distinguished faculty members. This partnership leverages the combined strengths of a premier technical institute, a national skill council, and a modern tech platform to deliver world-class virtual learning.

The academic expansion will kick off in the upcoming 2026–27 academic year with the launch of a flagship online M.Tech programme in Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence (SP&AI). Recognizing the rapidly evolving demands of the global tech industry, NITK plans to progressively expand its virtual catalog in the near future. Upcoming additions will include an online M.Tech in Information Technology, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and several other highly specialized industry-centric courses.
