Mangaluru : The 16th College Day celebration of Milagres College was celebrated with immense enthusiasm, joy, and widespread participation from students, faculty members, and distinguished guests on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, at the Milagres Auditorium. The grand event was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Rev. Dr. Michael Santhumayor, Administrator of Father Muller’s College of Allied Health Sciences. In his address to the gathering, he strongly emphasized the vital importance of developing core human values alongside regular academic excellence. He highlighted that a student’s college life plays a deeply transformative role in personal character and personality development, encouraging the student community to channel their unique talents and skills for the positive welfare of society. He further stated that maintaining strict discipline, dedicated hard work, and unwavering self-confidence are the absolute essentials required for achieving sustainable success in today’s highly competitive global environment.
Presiding over the formal function, Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, expressed that the institution remains deeply committed to nurturing cultural values, ethics, and a strong sense of social responsibility among its students, in addition to providing top-quality modern education. He warmly encouraged the student community to continue bringing laurels and distinct honors to the institution, while simultaneously appreciating the dedicated contributions of the lecturers, administrative staff, and students toward the ongoing progress and growth of the college.
As a special highlight of the institutional celebration, several faculty and staff members were formally felicitated for their professional achievements and dedication. Lecturers Lieutenant Denzil Edrod Pinto, who successfully completed three months of intensive National Cadet Corps (NCC) officer training, and Lenisha Peris, who completed specialized Rangers and Rovers training, were honored on stage. The highly anticipated Best Teacher Award in the lecturers’ category was proudly presented to Professor Shravya N of the Hindi Department, while the Best Supporting Staff Award was gracefully conferred upon Lavita Nishal for her dedicated service.
Further elevating the academic prestige of the event, the college’s annual student magazine, Milagres Miracle, was officially released to the public under the expert coordination of Ms. Manjusha. Concurrently, the International Multidisciplinary Research Journal book was also unveiled under the meticulous coordination of Dr. Asha Jyothi. Following the publications release, various lecturers and research-oriented students who had successfully presented scientific research papers were formally honored, alongside numerous other students who were recognized with competitive merit awards for their outstanding talents and academic achievements.
The memorable evening was graced by several prominent community and institutional leaders, including Parish Pastoral Vice-President Dixon, Secretary Jesinta, PTA Vice-President Priyadarshini, Student Union President Prekshika D R, Vice-President Rohan, and Cultural Secretary Jayarashmi, among others. The Principal and Campus Director, Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, delivered a warm welcome address to all attendees, while the programme coordinator, Samita, proposed the formal vote of thanks. The entire formal stage program was smoothly compered by student Nikel Lance Lewis, and the day reached a spectacular conclusion with a wide variety of colorful and vibrant cultural performances presented by the talented students.
