Mangaluru : Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, signed a prestigious Consultancy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, on April 25, 2026, at the Sahyadri campus. The collaboration marks a significant step towards strengthening academic excellence, industry alignment, and institutional development.
The delegation from CHRIST University included Dr. Anil Joseph Pinto, Registrar; Dr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Head, School of Business and Management; Dr. Vinay M, Head, Department of Computer Science, Statistics and Data Science; and Dr. Sandhya D, Program Coordinator-BBA.
The program commenced with a campus visit for the visiting dignitaries, followed by the formal MoU signing ceremony. The event began with a welcome address by Dr Vishal Samartha, Director – MBA Program, who highlighted the collaboration’s vision and purpose. She said – “Success of an MoU is not measured just by the documents, but by the success stories of our students”.
Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman of Sahyadri College, in his address, stated that Sahyadri aspired to collaborate with the best institution, which led to the selection of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) as its academic partner. He emphasized that the institution prioritizes quality over quantity when it comes to student development. He also proposed introducing a 2-3-month student exchange program to enhance learning and experience. Highlighting the broader vision, he expressed the institution’s commitment to nurturing skilled individuals and responsible citizens for the nation. He further mentioned the formal inauguration of the newly introduced BBA, BCA, and MCA programs and extended an invitation to the Vice Chancellor of CHRIST University to grace the occasion.
Dr. Anil Pinto, Registrar of CHRIST University, delivered an insightful presentation, sharing the institution’s best practices and academic strengths. He expressed his happiness to work with Sahyadri.
Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal of Sahyadri College, presented an overview of the institution, outlining its commitment to quality education, research, and implementation of NEP 2020 reforms.
The MoU was formally signed and exchanged between the representatives of both institutions, marking the beginning of a collaborative journey focused on the development and enhancement of BBA, BCA, and MCA programs.
The MoU further aims to strengthen faculty competencies through training, workshops, and mentoring, while enhancing institutional quality through Outcome-Based Education (OBE), accreditation readiness (NAAC and NBA), and academic governance practices. Collaborative research, student and faculty exchange, and development of digital infrastructure and virtual learning environments are also key focus areas.
