Bengaluru: Bengaluru University will confer honorary doctorate degrees on three people, including Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader.
Along with U.T. Khader, honorary doctorates will be conferred on former Legislative Council member D. Madegowda and Dr. T.B. Prasanna, founder and managing director of J.P. Agri Genetics Private Limited, at the university’s 60th annual convocation to be held on October 8.
The three will be conferred honorary doctorates at the convocation to be held on Wednesday at the Central College campus on Palace Road in Bengaluru, said Bangalore University Chancellor S.M. Jayakar.
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, who is also the Chancellor of Bangalore University, will preside over the ceremony, while retired director of DRDL and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Prahlad Rama Rao, who will participate as the chief guest, will deliver the convocation address. State Higher Education Minister Dr. M.C. Sudhakar will also be present.
