Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada District Commissioner Darshan H.V. has issued an official appeal seeking active public participation to ensure the successful implementation of the ongoing NIR process in the district. He stated that voters must accurately fill out and return the SIR enumeration forms, distributed to households by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), on or before July 29. Emphasizing the importance of the drive, the DC noted that citizens must collaborate closely with the administration to safeguard their legitimate voting rights.
Expressing concern over the slow progress, the District Commissioner revealed that the district has recorded only 11.86% completion so far. He clarified that the names of voters will appear on the official electoral roll only after these physical forms are uploaded and digitized online. Citizens are encouraged to hand over the completed forms immediately when BLOs visit their residences. Delaying the process until the final deadline will create an administrative bottleneck, making it extremely difficult to digitize thousands of applications within a short span. Therefore, the DC has urged residents to cooperate by submitting their forms within this week and advised anyone facing issues or confusion to visit the local voter registration center to obtain assistance from the officials.
