Udupi : The Udupi District Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a massive protest in Udupi today, strongly condemning what they termed as Congress’ “goonda culture” and anti-national policies. Led by Udupi District BJP President Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, the demonstration took place in front of the city’s Jathka Stand. Hundreds of party workers from across various wings, cells, and mandalas gathered in large numbers to raise slogans against the Congress leadership.
Addressing the gathering, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna launched a fierce attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming he lacks vision and is engaged in criticizing the Prime Minister by aligning with anti-national elements. Referring to the recent agitation at Jantar Mantar, Suvarna alleged that majority of the participants were not genuine students and asserted that the truth behind such protests would soon be exposed. He accused Rahul Gandhi of inciting youth and sowing discord to further his political interests at the expense of social harmony.
The protest witnessed the participation of several prominent BJP leaders from the region, including Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Karkala MLA V. Sunil Kumar, and senior leader Uday Kumar Shetty, among others who voiced their strong opposition to the ruling party’s policies.
