Mangaluru : Addressing the gathering at the inauguration of Prajna ’26—an Educational Symposium for Professional Students organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium—Dr. K. Prakash Shetty, President and Managing Director of M.R.G. Group, emphasized that vision gives birth to goals while action gives them shape. Reflecting on Swami Vivekananda’s life, he highlighted how unwavering self-confidence and faith in Indian culture, values, and traditions served as a guiding light, encouraging students to approach every opportunity with a positive mindset.
Sharing personal life experiences, Dr. Shetty pointed out that making timely, correct decisions can completely transform one’s life. He advised the youth that true success follows dedication, sincerity, and executing responsibilities effectively, noting that programs like Prajna are vital for instilling values, character, and a sense of responsibility among students. Commending the educational and service initiatives of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, he called upon students to actively participate in society building alongside achieving personal career ambitions.
Held in memory of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the 1893 Chicago World’s Parliament of Religions, the symposium carried the theme “Educate, Empower, Elevate: Building Lives of Character and Service.” The inauguration took place in the presence of Swami Jitakamanandaji, Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru, and brought together over 750 professional students from numerous prominent institutions across the region, including A.J. Institute, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Canara College of Engineering, Sahyadri College, Alva’s Institute, St. Aloysius University, City College of Nursing, and Mangala College.
The event featured dynamic resource sessions, starting with Pujya Swami Yukteshanandaji of Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, followed by Gurudatta Shenoy, Managing Partner of Mukund Reality and Vertex Management. A panel interactive session themed “A Degree is a Beginning; Skills, Attitude and Service are the Path to a Meaningful Career” was led by Dr. Ronald Sequeira of IISDR, Clinical Psychologist Dr. K.T. Shwetha, and Deepak Raj from Amazon Development Centre, with Vaishakh K.P. moderating the discussion. Former MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik welcomed the gathering, Bellal Gopinath Rao proposed the vote of thanks, and Regina Dinesh compered the program, which provided students with essential insights into leadership, skill-building, and value-driven living.
