Mangaluru : Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Ivan D’Souza has called upon Congress Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) to actively participate in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program of the electoral roll. He emphasized that it is their responsibility to function with dedication and ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the updated voters’ list.
Addressing a meeting of Congress ward-level coordinators today, D’Souza instructed the BLA-2 members to undertake door-to-door visits and thoroughly educate residents about the ongoing SIR process. He guided them to assist citizens in submitting necessary forms along with proper documentation to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and to ensure they diligently collect the official acknowledgments, thereby smoothly facilitating this critical electoral update.
Former Congress Lok Sabha candidate for Dakshina Kannada, Padmaraj R. Poojary, who also spoke at the event, highlighted that creating awareness among citizens and ensuring every eligible individual’s inclusion in the voter list is essential to strengthening democracy. He urged all party workers to provide accurate information to the public and collaborate enthusiastically in the drive. Additionally, Poojary commended the organized training programs being conducted under the leadership of Ivan D’Souza, stating it would ensure highly effective operations at the grass-roots booth level.
As part of the meeting, official identification cards were formally released and distributed to the Congress Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) to authorize their fieldwork.
A large contingent of local party leaders and key workers attended the strategic session, including former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Nagendra Kumar, Ashraf Bajal, Amrit Kadri, Kavitha Vasu, Girish Shetty, Chethan Kumar, Alwyn, Neethu D’Souza, Honnaiah, Satish Pengal, Manjula Nayak, Bhaskar Rao, Manu Raj, Vijayalakshmi, Dinesh Rao, Yogesh Nayak, Durgaprasad, Adly Simon, Farooq, and Ritesh Shaktinagar.
