Bengaluru : Dilip Kumar HR, Saujanya , DV, A Santosh Murali and ‘Orata’ Sri to produce a biopic on the life of Saalumarada Thimmakka, a Padma Shri awardee who found children in trees and nurtured countless trees, becoming an example for the entire world. The film will be produced under the banner of Srilakshmi Venkateswara Pictures. The film is being made based on the book ‘Vrikshamaate Saalumarada Thimmakka’ written by Dr. Nellikatte S Siddesh. The title of the film was recently released by senior writer and former chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, Nagalakshmi Bai.
Shooting around Tumkur
The film is titled ‘Vrikshamate’, and ‘Orata’ Sri, who was famous for his previous film ‘Orata I Love You’, is now directing the biopic of Thimmakka of the Salumarada. This film will be made in an artistic style, with actress Soujanya playing the role of Thimmakka. The shooting for this film has already begun and is being shot around Hulikal and Madhugiri in Tumkur district. Currently, the first schedule of shooting has been completed and the second schedule will start soon.
Meanwhile, Neenasam Ashwath is playing the role of Thimmakka’s husband, while M K Math, Ganesh Kesarkar, Deepa D K, Bhumika, Manu, Prakash Shetty, and Anjanamma are acting in the film ‘Vrikshamate’. The dialogues and lyrics for this film are jointly written by Dr. Nellikatte Siddesh and ‘Orata’ Sri.
