Mangaluru, October 25: Food Safety officials conducted a raid on the Kudpis Foods manufacturing unit located near Kadri Temple in the city on Saturday, serving a notice to the management after uncovering severe unhygienic conditions on the premises.
During the inspection, the authorities seized and sealed batches of halwa and date products that were being processed under insanitary conditions. Samples of the seized items have been dispatched to a laboratory for detailed quality and safety testing. Officials instructed the unit owners to immediately rectify the faulty drainage system, implement pest and rodent control measures, and thoroughly clean the entire facility before resuming any food production activities.
The surprise operation was carried out on the directions of Health Minister U.T. Khader by a team led by District Food Safety Designated Officer Dr. Praveen Kumar C.H. The officials emphasized that strict vigilance and necessary precautions regarding food safety will continue to be enforced across the region during the ongoing festival season.
