Punjalkatte : A woman was found dead at a government residential quarters in Vagga, leading to the arrest of her husband after the victim’s family members lodged a police complaint alleging murder. The arrested husband has been produced before the local court following his apprehension by law enforcement authorities.
The deceased has been identified as Sunitha Mahadev Desangi (34), a native of Telasanga village in Athani taluk of Belagavi district, who was serving as a nursing officer at the Haveri Government District Hospital. The arrested suspect is her husband, Sanjeev Kumar (36), hailing from Gadyala village in Jamkhandi taluk of Bagalkot district. Sanjeev Kumar was working on a contract basis as a Community Health Officer in Vagga.
The matter came to light after the victim’s brother, Arun Mahadev Desangi, filed a formal murder complaint at the Bantwal Rural Police Station, suspecting foul play behind his sister’s death. Based on the family’s complaint, the police registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
