Mangalore : The land acquisition from the farmers is the mental harassment done by the government, said A S Anand, president, Savayava Krishi Mission, Government of Karnataka.
He was speaking at the press meet held at DC chamber at his office on July 9, Friday. He also said that if there is different justice for industry and farmers, it will not be balanced.
The government is taking farmers agricultural land for the establishment of Industry, but the government will not take land from the Industry and give to farmers for agriculture, he said.
No document of incident is present, where the land from Industries is been acquired and given to farmers. If this was done then the matter would be balanced. Today the situation has aroused where the farmer who works to give food for all is conducting hunger strike.
He urged the government to provide land to Patrao, where he desires and the construction of the house will be done by the agriculturalists. The house sis not just built by bricks and stones, but the person will have the attachment with his land. Hence the CM must support him and value his hunger strike.
He also informed that after seeing the demolition Cd of Gregory Patrao’s house by KIADB authorities, one will surely feel the sensitive situation and try to work for the justice. He assured to give the copy of CD to Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa tomorrow when he meets him at the Krishi Utsav to be held Chickmagalur.
He confidently said that, the CM will surely respond to his appeal and give decision in his favour and Patroa’s hunger strike will come to an end tomorrow, he added.
