Bengaluru : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, participated in the “Neeraj Chopra Classic-2025” Javelin Throwing Tournament held at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru today, which has written a new chapter in the history of Indian sports. He watched the sports performance of the world’s best javelin throwers and presented medals to the winners.
Two-time Olympic medalist, current world champion, world No. 1 javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has started the International Javelin Tournament in his name as a platform for the sportsmanship of the giants in javelin throwing. He wished that such tournaments will be organized in the state in the future and attract the youth to the sport.
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Home Minister G. Parameshwar honored the winners by giving away awards and medals.
Olympic Association President, Legislative Council Member Govindaraju, and MLA Rizwan Arshad were present.
