Udupi : Dr. Satheesha Nayak Alambi, Professor of Anatomy, Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal tops the list of Indian Anatomy researchers as per the Stanford list of top 2% researchers in the world. The list for the year 2025 was released on September 19, 2025.
Dr. Nayak was the only Indian Anatomist to be featured in both Single year and Career categories in the subfield “Anatomy and Morphology”. He is currently ranked 42 among world Anatomy researchers. A total of 8 Indian Anatomists (5 in the Single year category and 4 in the Career category) have featured in either one of the categories. The list was based on the citations obtained in the year 2024.
Dr. Nayak has published over 425 articles in reputed international journals, out of which 297 are published in Scopus indexed journals. Dr. Nayak has bagged several good teacher awards, university and state level gold medals for research and international awards for his critical reviews of journal articles.
