Bantwal : The Bellippady Ramanath Rai Birthday Celebration Committee organized a event on Sunday at the Ambedkar Bhavan in B.C. Road to launch the official logo marking the 75th birthday celebration of former Minister B. Ramanath Rai. During the function, committee president Chandraprakash Shetty Thumbay highlighted that Ramanath Rai has consistently embodied the principles of Brahmashree Narayana Guru by responding to people’s grievances beyond caste and religion, describing him as a rare politician who remains committed to public service regardless of holding power. He announced that the committee plans to celebrate Rai’s milestone 75th birthday with a series of grand events throughout the year.
Speaking at the occasion, Tukarama Poojary from the Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre praised Ramanath Rai’s leadership qualities developed since his student days and referred to him as the political ‘Bhishma’ of the coastal region. As part of the proceedings, Ramanath Rai was felicitated and the official logo commemorating his 75th year was formally unveiled.
Distinguished leaders including Mamata D.S. Gatti, Chalet Pinto, Lavanya Ballal, M.S. Mohammad, Ashwini Kumar Rai, Mallika Shetty, Padma Shekhara Jain, Mustafa Sullia, Balakrishna Anchan, Chandrashekhar Bhandary, Sudeep Kumar Shetty, B.M. Abbas Ali, K.K. Sahul Hameed, and Ibrahim Nawaz Badakabail were present on stage. Piyush L. Rodrigues welcomed the gathering, Balakrishna Alva Kodaje compered the event, and Baby Kunder delivered the vote of thanks.
